THE TREE OF LIFE


🌳 The Tree of Life – God’s Gift of Eternal Fellowship

Text:

Genesis 2:9, Revelation 22:1–2

Introduction:

From the very beginning of creation, God planted the Tree of Life in the Garden of Eden as a symbol of His desire for man to live eternally in fellowship with Him. Though sin cut man off from it, in Christ, the Tree of Life reappears at the end of the Bible, showing God’s eternal plan of redemption and restoration.

1. The Tree of Life in the Beginning (Genesis 2:9)

  • Planted by God at the center of Eden.
  • Symbol of immortality, health, and unbroken fellowship.
  • Adam and Eve were free to eat from it as long as they obeyed God.
  • It shows that God’s plan was always for man to live, not to die.

Life Application: God has always desired us to walk in life, not in death and destruction.

2. The Loss of Access (Genesis 3:22–24)

  • After sin, man was driven from Eden.
  • Angels with flaming swords guarded the way to the Tree of Life.
  • Sin separates man from God and His eternal life.

Life Application: Sin is the greatest barrier between man and God. Without repentance, we cannot partake of the Tree of Life.

3. Christ – The True Tree of Life (John 14:6, John 6:48–51)

  • Jesus came as the Bread of Life, offering eternal sustenance.
  • In Him is eternal life—He restores what Adam lost.
  • At the cross, He opened the way back to life by conquering sin and death.

Life Application: By receiving Christ, we begin to partake of the Tree of Life spiritually here on earth.

4. The Tree of Life in Eternity (Revelation 22:1–2, 14)

  • In the New Jerusalem, the Tree of Life reappears.
  • It bears 12 fruits, yielding fruit every month—symbolizing complete provision.
  • Its leaves are for the healing of the nations.
  • Blessed are those who wash their robes (live holy), for they will have the right to the Tree of Life.

Life Application: Heaven is the full restoration of what was lost in Eden. Eternal access to God’s presence, joy, and everlasting life.

5. How Do We Partake of the Tree of Life Today?

  • Repentance and Faith in Jesus Christ (John 3:16).
  • Obedience and Holiness (Revelation 22:14).
  • Daily fellowship with God through His Word and Spirit (Proverbs 3:18 calls wisdom a tree of life).
  • Winning souls and love (Proverbs 11:30 – “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life”).

Conclusion:

The Tree of Life is more than a plant in Eden—it is a picture of God’s eternal purpose: that we should live forever with Him. Sin barred the way, but Christ reopened it through His death and resurrection. Today, you and I have a choice: to partake of eternal life through Christ, or to remain cut off.F

Final Charge: Choose life, walk in holiness, and you will eat of the Tree of Life in eternity! 🌿

“Standing Faithful in the Face of the Beast” Text: Revelation 13 Introduction: The rise of the beast In Book of Revelation chapter 13, Apostle John describes two terrifying figures: 1. THE CALL

Topic: The Call Text: Ephesians 4:11 – “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers.” Introduction Every believer has a call from God. The call is not just about being in the pulpit; it is about fulfilling God’s divine purpose for our lives.
