Do not Alter the Truth

Do Not Alter the Truth

Text: Deuteronomy 4:2, Proverbs 30:6, Revelation 22:18–19

🔹 Introduction
Truth is one of the greatest treasures God has given to mankind. The Word of God is perfect, complete, and unchangeable. Throughout history, many have tried to adjust, dilute, or twist God’s Word to suit personal desires, culture, or convenience. But God warns strongly that His Word must never be altered.

When we alter the truth, we move away from God’s will. When we preserve the truth, we walk in divine light, protection, and blessing.

🔹 1. God’s Word Is Perfect and Complete
Psalm 19:7 – “The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul.”
God’s Word does not need improvement, editing, or human correction. It is already complete.
✔ God’s Word contains direction for life
✔ God’s Word contains salvation
✔ God’s Word contains wisdom and instruction
Any attempt to add human opinion above scripture weakens the power of truth.

🔹 2. Altering the Truth Leads to Deception
Genesis 3:1–5
The first deception in history happened when Satan altered God’s Word while speaking to Eve. He slightly changed what God said, and that small alteration led to the fall of mankind.
- The enemy rarely denies truth completely.
- He often twists or modifies it.

When truth is altered:
Sin begins to look acceptable
Error begins to look like wisdom
People drift away from God without realizing it

🔹 3. God Commands Us to Preserve His Word
Deuteronomy 4:2
Proverbs 30:5–6
God is serious about the purity of His Word because His Word represents His character. Changing His Word is like misrepresenting God Himself.
Believers are called to:
- Study the Word faithfully
- Teach the Word accurately
- Live according to the Word completely

🔹 4. Truth Is Our Foundation for Spiritual Stability
Matthew 7:24–27
Jesus compared His teachings to a solid rock. Anyone who builds life on truth will stand strong despite storms.

But when truth is altered:
Faith becomes weak
Doctrine becomes confused
Spiritual growth becomes unstable
Truth keeps believers grounded.

🔹 5. God Blesses Those Who Honor His Truth
John 8:31–32 – “You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
Truth brings:
✔ Freedom from sin
✔ Freedom from deception
✔ Freedom from fear
✔ Freedom from spiritual bondage
God honors those who honor His Word.

🔹 Conclusion
The Word of God is sacred, complete, and eternal. We must resist the temptation to adjust it to suit our feelings, society, or personal comfort. Our responsibility is not to change the truth but to obey it.
Isaiah 40:8 – “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.”

🔹 Call to Reflection
Ask yourself:
Am I following God’s Word fully or partially?
Do I accept only the parts that are convenient?
Am I guarding the truth in my life?

Closing Charge
Stand for truth.
Speak the truth.
Live the truth.
Never alter the truth.

Standing faithful in the face of the beast

“Standing Faithful in the Face of the Beast” Text: Revelation 13 Introduction: The rise of the beast In Book of Revelation chapter 13, Apostle John describes two terrifying figures: 1. The Beast from the Sea 2. The Beast from the Earth (False Prophet) This chapter reveals Satan’s strategy during the end times. In chapter 12, the dragon (Satan) was exposed. In chapter 13, we see how he operates — through systems, leaders, and deception. The dragon gives power to the first beast (Rev 13:2). This means the authority behind the beast is satanic. Key truth: Whenever power is not surrendered to God, it becomes a tool in the enemy’s hand. The Beast from the Sea (Rev 13:1–10) This beast: Has 7 heads and 10 horns, Speaks blasphemy, Makes war with the saints, Is worshipped by the world. This represents the Antichrist — a political global ruler empowered by Satan. He will : Gain worldwide admiration (v.3), Demand worship (v.4), Persecute believers (v.7) Exercise authority for 42 month...

THE CALL

Topic: The Call Text: Ephesians 4:11 – “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers.” Introduction Every believer has a call from God. The call is not just about being in the pulpit; it is about fulfilling God’s divine purpose for our lives. In Ephesians 4:11, Paul highlights different ministry offices established by Christ for the growth and maturity of His church. This passage shows us that the call is not man-made, but God-ordained. Today, we will examine The Call in four dimensions: The Source of the Call, The Purpose of the Call, The Responsibility of the Called and the 5 ministry offices and functions.  1. The Source of the Call It comes from God, not man (Jeremiah 1:5 – “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee…”). Christ Himself gives the offices (Eph. 4:11 says He gave ). The call is not based on human ability, but divine choice (1 Corinthians 1:27-29). Example: Moses didn’t choose...
